Top 5 reasons to use an Open Source Phone System

So you may ask what is an Open Source Phone System and why would I care?  Well, it all comes down to these five simple things.

  1.  There are no license fees to use the  Phone System.  Wait what?  That's right as you know most "proprietary" phone systems have a per user fee just to use the system.  This fee can be as high as a couple hundred bucks.  Also, you have to keep paying it if you want your system to be up to date.  Set your phone system free!
  2.   The Future is coming!  That's right it's always looming just over the horizon and with it comes new features and cool things you are going to want to use.  Will that "proprietary" system be able to add it?  With an Open Source system, most features are just an update away.  No expensive hardware to buy and maintain.  Just a software update.  Easy Peasy!
  3.   Like a rock.  These systems are stable.  I mean really stable.  The trick is to have them set up by a team of professionals that know what they are doing.  We have seen these systems without 1 second of downtime for 5 to 7 years.  You heard me not 1 second of downtime.  That's pretty dang stable if you ask me.
  4.   Customization.  You are the boss of your phone system.  You have the ability to think outside of the box.  With tons of apps available the sky is the limit.
  5.    The last phone system you will ever have to buy.  How many phone systems do you want to buy? Depending on the size of your business this can be a big purchase.  It would be nice to only have to buy it once.  With an Open Source System, everything is run on independent components.  You have the software, the server, the phones.  All work together but are independent.  That means if you have a server issue just replace the server.  If you want to try a new type of phone, go for it.
